Version History What’s New in 6.5.0

Faster, smarter Matches — cats load already ranked for you, with smoother paging and a search radius you can set from 10 to 100 miles.

Best Fit is clearer — the strongest matches show as one list by fit. Cats with limited personality info stay in their own group. Each card’s match badge now includes High, Medium, or Limited confidence.

Search and personality — describing what you want applies filters more smoothly, coat-color matching is more accurate, and cat types are typed and ranked more reliably.

Shelters and Saves — nearby shelters show ratings, review counts, and organization icons. Saved cats are grouped by rescue, with a simpler header.

Low Data Mode and better behavior on slow or spotty connections, plus more reliable first loads when your location is still being set. 6.5.0 Aug 21 What’s New in 6.3.4

Cat profiles are richer and easier to scan. Expanded detail pills highlight breed, age, personality-friendly traits, vaccines, good-with info, distance, and more — so you can size up a cat at a glance.

Open a shelter’s website right from a cat’s page with the new www button. When a cat has its own page, we take you there; otherwise we open the organization’s site.

Search understands more of what you mean. Describe an active family and we’ll prioritize kid-friendly, higher-energy cats. Say you’re a first-time or new cat owner and we’ll steer toward a steadier, beginner-friendly profile. Other natural phrases — like wanting an affectionate but independent companion — are handled more accurately too.

Finding cats near you is smoother on iPhone, with clearer location prompts and better ZIP handling when you first open the app.

Photo galleries with lots of pictures keep their page dots neatly inside the frame, and “Why this cat fits you” more accurately reflects real differences in energy, independence, and sensitivity. 6.3.4 Jul 22 Smarter Matches, clearer answers:
• We’ve made the Matches tab easier to understand. Cats waiting on a personality score are labeled Score Pending; cats that can’t be scored yet (for example, very young kittens or listings with little info) show a friendly explanation instead of a confusing blank.
• Kittens now appear alongside other cats in your main results, with gentle messaging when their personality is still taking shape.
• If scoring needs a moment to catch up, you can tap Score personality on any cat you’re interested in.
• Smoother personality picker — Animated personality-type filters and faster loading when you browse Matches
• Faster match scoring — Improved loading and scoring as you scroll your results 6.3.3 Jun 21 Personality type, animated • Pick a personality type (like Lap Legend or Puzzle Pro) and watch your trait filters update one by one — same smooth flow as voice search.
• The screen scrolls to each trait as it changes, then returns to the personality type picker when finished.
• Faster, clearer animations so you can see exactly what’s being applied.

Smarter Matches list • Match scores load and reorder more smoothly as you browse adoption results.
• Better handling when AI scoring is briefly busy — cats are retried automatically so strong matches still rise to the top.
• Scoring pauses when you leave Matches and picks up when you return, so the list stays responsive.

Reliability & polish • Backend security and rate-limit improvements for a more stable experience.
• Bug fixes and performance tweaks throughout Search and Matches. 6.3.2 Jun 18 What's New in 6.3.0

Introducing Rescue Spotlights
Discover highlighted cats from rescues in your area. Each spotlight is tailored to your location, shows the cat and rescue story at a glance, and helps you jump straight to a profile when you want to learn more. Spotlights respect each rescue’s distance rules and prioritize what’s closest to you first, so nearby opportunities surface at the top.

Smoother startup
We added timeouts around network checks, configuration load, and sign-in so the app is less likely to feel stuck on a slow connection, with clearer guidance when you need to retry.

A few bugs were fixed. 1.3 02/27/2017 The upgrades to Feline Finder formerly known as Cat Appz are concentrated into three main areas. First, the major area that has been improved in this version is the screens have been redesigned to make them look better. Some graphical effects have been added like the turning of pages in the survey section. Animated transitions have been added between going from screen to screen. The list of cats for adoption has been categorized to show around how far away the various shelters are away from you. If the data is provided by the shelters you can get driving directions to tell you more accurately how far away the shelter is from you. A cat adoption button has been added to the title screen to allow you to more easily access the local cats. Instructions have been added to the top of each page so you can more easily see what your various options are on most screens. A filter display is now available on the top of the list of adoptable cats. Various bugs have been squashed. A cat photo viewer has been added. The app has been made universal and can now be used on the iPad. Better navigation has been added. A grid of cats available to adopt has been added instead of a table so you can see the cat's pictures better.

Second, where Feline Finder is getting its data has changed. Feline Finder now uses RescueGroups.org to supply the cats for adoption. This provides many more pictures and also YouTube videos of some of the cats for adoption. Also, RescueGroups supplies much more data. This data can be used to better narrow down your choice of a cat to adopt. Your filters can be saved so you can go back to them later. When you favorite a cat you like you can track when the cat is adopted and in some cases when he is about to be adopted.

Third, YouTube videos have made available describing 65 breeds of cats and in some cases where the shelters provide them individual cats for adoption.

Hope you enjoy these additions and may you find the cat or kitten which is just right for you. 1.2 02/22/2017 1.0 08/17/2016
